Our Work

From our home base in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dr. Tim conducts online courses for pastors and theological students in Myanmar and the Congo, two countries too dangerous to visit in person currently. He also preaches and teaches in various immigrant churches, such as congregations in Texas and Maryland. Dr. Jill speaks on labyrinth prayer and the Chartres Cathedral, and exhibits her photographs from our ministries around the world. On occasion, Tim and Jill conduct half-day retreats from their Minnesota home.

2026 United States Goals

Support, inspire, and encourage immigrants and students from Myanmar who are studying, working, or simply living in the USA by publishing biblical reflections online in English, meeting with select groups, and occasionally preaching and teaching in one of the immigrant churches

  1. Publish biblical reflections online, particularly geared toward the Myanmar community

  2. Mentor and support Burmese Masters-level students, PhD candidates, and PhD holders who are studying or staying in the USA, as individuals or in small groups

  3. Preach and teach in Burmese churches, as invited, time permitting

2026 Writing/Media Goals

To continue to develop, and make increasingly accessible, written and digital resources in keeping with the mission of Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries: “to teach, inspire, and encourage followers of Christ to serve God more effectively as Spirit-led leaders”. The target group includes Tim’s current and former students, colleagues, and associates, along with others living in the troubled regions served by FHLGM: Myanmar, Thailand, and Eastern Congo, as well as English speaking supporters and team members.

  1. Write biblical reflections in English to publish on Facebook and Spirit-ledleader.com.

  2. Translate select articles into Burmese for active marketing/advertising in Burmese-speaking contexts; into French for Eastern Congo; and Swahili for Eastern Congo (principally through Facebook).

  3. Create a new promotional video focused on our work along the Thai-Myanmar border

  4. Finish creating and launch Faith, Hope, and Love Global’s new website

  • Dr. Tim's teaching on "What's worth worrying about?" based on Philippians 4:6-7 last December 2025, freed our congregation, especially the youth members, from paralyzing anxiety, showing us that worry is not a burden we must carry but a signal to choose a faithful response. … As a result, many of our congregants, and especially most youth leaders, are no longer consumed by worries and anxieties but strengthened by the hope that they have in Christ. Honestly, Dr. Tim’s coming to our church was kind of something extraordinary.

  • Every time I meet with Dr. Tim and Dr. Jill, I truly feel God's love and presence in a very real and touching way. Despite a busy schedule, Dr. Tim occasionally visited the Luther Seminary campus to see me, talk and listen, and most importantly, to pray for me in person. a breakthrough occurred when Dr. Tim visited me upon my arrival in the US. Coming from Myanmar, I carried fears, worries about the violent political situation, loneliness, and concerns for my family left behind. I remember breaking down and weeping as he prayed for me - not out of sadness, but relief. At that moment, I didn’t just receive counsel; I experienced God’s love and presence flowing through him. I felt seen, loved, and cared for by God as His child, with a warmth that broke my loneliness and reminded me of His embracing presence in this new country.
