Spiritual Counsel

Our mission is to teach, inspire, and encourage followers of Christ to serve God more effectively as Spirit-led leaders.

About

Spiritual counseling is both a formal and informal aspect of FHLGM's ministries alongside the scheduled teaching and leadership development programs. Wherever the FHLGM team goes, we meet individuals in need of counsel and prayer. Many of them have been traumatized from their experiences living in war-zones or are struggling to cope with great hardship and suffering. However, in almost every context, trained counselors are either unavailable or there is a stigma attached to counseling, creating a great, pent-up need, which our staff is often uniquely positioned to address.

When requested, Tim provides spiritual life coaching to select leaders, with the goal of helping them grow deeper in their relationship with God and let God lead them more fully and fruitfully in every aspect of their lives. Ultimately, in helping Christian ministers, leaders, and other motivated people of influence, coaching is designed to strengthen churches, ministries, and organizations and to further the Kingdom of God.

In Chartres, France, Jill provides spiritual guidance for individuals and small groups within the context of one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world. There, Jill is able to inspire and guide others by reflecting with them on the stained-glass windows, the sculptures, the labyrinth, agnd other aspects of the architecture.

Coping with Overwhelming Distress

Part Three: Be Hopeful
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve asked myself, full of frustration and distress over yet another report of abuse, exploitation, or horrific destruction of lives, “Where is God?” Yet, when I start spiraling downward in my mind and emotions, I have to remind myself that this line of thinking isn’t going to help me or anyone else…

Don’t Give Up!

Why Joseph refused to act like a victim

His father, Israel, loved him more than any of his other 11 brothers, but throughout much of his life he suffered unjustly. His brothers threw him into a pit and then sold him into slavery. He was forcibly taken from the land of Canaan to Egypt, where his new master’s wife falsely accused him…
